Walker and Dalton

I had such a wonderful weekend! I got to spend Friday with Felicia for her last night here, which was fun as usual. Then, Saturday morning Mom, Dad and Felicia left for the long ride to Kentucky.:( That's where they were meeting Jack rather than having to drive all the way to Indiana. I'm sad Felicia isn't here anymore, but it makes me excited about the next time we get to spend some time together!

So, it was just Ellie and I at the house. It's always a breath of fresh air to be home alone. Not that I don't LOVE having family around, but sometimes it's nice to not have any plans...just to enjoy the weekend. That's just what we did too! Jessica, Corey (her husband), Dalton and Walker came over to swim with us Saturday afternoon. We had such a good time. We got some sun, played in the pool, ate lunch and just relaxed together. Let me just say those little boys are so precious! I have some pics to share too...

This is Walker...he is such a ham! :) He has the best personality. He's four and so much fun! My arms are still sore today from picking him up out of the water all day. We had such a blast!

This is little Dalton! He's two and SO freakin' precious! He would just laugh and laugh when he was in the water. Ellie got such a kick out of having them there too. Definitely something we'll have to do again soon!

Ellie went to stay with her dad Saturday night, so I had the night and house to myself the rest of the weekend. I think I got more done in one day than I've managed to get done all year. It was so nice! I have to admit by Sunday evening I missing my Ellie and ready for her to get back home. Yes, I enjoyed having the day for myself, but I missed my little munchkin'.

Summer Fun!

We had a wonderful weekend! Lauren came home to visit (to visit Ellie mostly I think) and we had so much fun! Although, we always have fun together. We spent all day Saturday out by the pool playing games and swimming. This picture was taken during a brief pause from the volleyball game. Aren't we cute?! Josh and I kicked some serious butt! :) So, in the picture: you know Josh and I, and I showed you pictures of Lauren, but I have not talked about the Jud-man yet. Judson has been a boyfriend to Lauren for three years now. He just recently proposed over the Christmas holiday, so we have fun planning ahead of us! Judson is a great guy and even though he makes fun of my obsession with green, I still love him! :)

Ellie was swimming all by herself this weekend! She still had her floaties on, but she was kicking around like she knew exactly what she was doing. It was too precious!

Then my favorite! I wish every weekend could be spent lounging around the pool with close friends and family. I guess the older you get the harder it is to actually relax on the weekends. There always seems to be something that needs to be done. Not this weekend though, we had a great time together!

Memorial Day Update

After work yesterday, Josh and I took Ellie swimming for the first time this year. We had such a good time. Josh's parents have a pool at their house that was already eighty degrees! It was a little cool, but it felt so good with the hot weather. Nothing compared to the seventy degree pool at our house...brrrr. So anyway, after work I ran home, changed clothes, got Ellie ready, and headed to meet Josh. Ellie was so precious in her new Memorial Day swimsuit! This picture was taken just a little bit after arriving. The water was too cool for her liking, but she sat along the edge and kicked her feet around in the water. I put her in with me a couple of times, but she was a little cold. I guess my motherly instincts were kicking in, or it may have been that she was shivering, had chill bumps, and her lips were turning purple. Nah, it wasn't that bad. She was really more interested in playing around the pool than playing in the pool.

This next picture of Ellie is my favorite! Modeling her swimsuit. She is such a ham. Speaking of ham, look at those thighs! She got those from me, cottage cheese and all! Aren't they precious?! This is really a funny photo, because she spent the first half hour we were there trying to get up on that chair. Then, when she finally did she realized her feet would go through to the ground...not what she had in mind at all. Josh snapped this picture just before she frantically reaches for my hand to help her out of the trap she got herself into.

Here we are lounging around in the pool. This was really the only way Ellie wanted to be in the water. Give her time, I am sure by the end of the summer I won't be able to keep her out of the pool.

Kids are so funny. I noticed yesterday if Josh and I were playing in the pool, splashing around and such, she had this intense look of concern on her little face. A few times she even let out a yell and held her hand out to me like she was going to help. She is such a sweetheart!

There is Josh, soaking up some rays! After playing in the pool and sitting in the sun, Josh's parents grilled some hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner. Mmmm...makes me hungry again just thinking about how good they were.
Then, after a long afternoon of frolic and fun, Ellie and I were both pooped! She slept the whole way home. She did not even wake up once we got home. I think that was the first time I have changed her in her sleep. Needless to say, we both had a GREAT Memorial Day together!
